Sunday Gatherings

Every Sunday morning we gather together to celebrate what God is doing in our lives and in the world through Jesus. No matter where you are in life, spiritually-skeptical, curious about Christianity, or a committed follower of Jesus, our Sunday gatherings point us to what we all need, God’s grace in Jesus.

The Arts

The Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars. - Francis Schaeffer
As creatures made in the image of God, we not only have the capacity to love, think and feel emotion, but we also have to capacity to create. In fact, the Bible says that we are called by God to create because it reflects the Creator. We feel this gives art enormous value. For this reason we celebrate the arts at City Church during our Sunday gatherings. Through music, poetry, literary readings, paintings, and dance our artists unveil the beauty of God in a way words never could. It is our hope that God's truths will be more clearly revealed to you through our use of the arts on Sunday mornings.

Food and Fellowship

Did you ever notice how many times in the Gospels we find Jesus sharing a meal with people? It’s a lot! Why is that? Because there is no better way to get to know people than to sit down and enjoy a meal together. This is as true today as it was back in Jesus' time. That’s why food is an important part of our Sunday gatherings. Our volunteers offer a delicious breakfast and brunch every Sunday in our galleria, and it's free of charge! We do this because we want to get to know you. Breakfast is served from 9:30-9:50 a.m. and brunch is served immediately after the service.

What Do I Wear?

Casual South Florida attire is the norm for our Sunday gatherings. Shorts, flip-flops, Hawaiian shirts, blue jeans, Miami Dolphin jerseys (Sorry no N.Y. Jet jerseys allowed!).

What about the offering?

We do not ‘pass the plate’ during our Sunday gatherings. We realize that many people think churches are all about getting your money, therefore we never pressure anyone to give. Financial support is received from members who are committed to City Church’s vision. Giving is between you and God; those who wish to give simply drop their gift into a receptacle on the way out.

What about kids?

Our Children's Program offers Sunday School for children from ages 2-12 and there is also a nursery available for your convenience. There are three classes available for children:

King's Kids (ages 2-4) Young children learn important Bible truths as their faith grows.
God Seekers (ages 5-8) Elementary aged children use their Bibles to learn more about God and His love and explore this through lively skits and creative activities.
Uth Troop (ages 9-12) These thought provoking lessons help older kids find answers to the real questions they have about faith and life issues.

Acts of Faith Puppet Troop - City Kid's Director, Pam Molnar, and her staff and assistance from the Uth Troop use the Acts of Faith Puppets to reach, teach, and entertain audiences of all ages. In the hands of our dedicated puppeteers, these foam and fabric creations come to life to make us laugh, cry, and teach us about ourselves and our relationship with God and others.
